Fondo
Classic
Background
Classic
The routine starts in a maroon room with a flower in the right and confetti. When Nicki starts to sing, a red and black path with triangles is seen, and the flower starts to glow.
Before the pre-chorus, the background turns black, and there's a blue spotlight with a pink circle. After GM1 is performed, the background returns to the same as the beginning.
During the chorus, the background returns to the second shape it was, but there is smoke in the background, lights are moving. When Nicki does not sing, the pink circle glows.
Extreme
The background is the normal background of Extreme routines. In this routine, the squares are in different colors like - green, yellow, blue, purple, and pink.
When 'Music makes me high' is sung, the squares turn black with orange outlines.
At some parts of the song, the coach's shadow is seen in the squares.

Trivia
- Pound The Alarm is the third Nicki Minaj song in the series.
- The dancers appear to be wearing Trinidadian festival costumes similar to those in the music video of this song.
- Coincidentally, Nicki Minaj is of Trinidadian nationality.
- The Extreme routine is the first Alternate in the series to be a DLC.
- It is speculated that P4 is the main dancer of the song because she is the only dancer used in promotional pictures of the song choreography and she is different from the other dancers. She has her hair styled while the others have their hair down, and she has face makeup that covers her whole face.
- After the second chorus, during the bridge, it is visibly possible to see the dancers breathing heavily.
- When the Extreme Routine was announced on YouTube, it was not announced as a DLC. This was fixed later.
- In the Classic routine, before the music starts, a shortened version of the melody from the beginning of the music video appears.
- P2's color scheme is incorrect on the menu square and coach selection screen of the Classic routine, as the eye makeup and feathers are pink instead of purple.
- In the menu square, it can also be seen that the coach's suit is blue and yellow instead of black and purple and the red stripes on the boots are red instead of purple. In the coach selection screen, the purple part of the suit is purple with blue accents.
- P2 and P3 switch color schemes in the chorus.
- When P1 is in the neon version, she is seen in completely inverted colors.
- "
" and "b**ch" are censored.
- This is the third Nicki Minaj song to have a battle against another song (in this case Kiss You), after Super Bass (which goes against Love You Like A Love Song) and Beauty And A Beat (which goes against Call Me Maybe), both of which are in Just Dance 4.
- In the battle routine, P1's glove is purple instead of sky blue.
- For reaching Level 4000 on the World Dance Floor in Just Dance 2015, P3's avatar is unlocked.
- This song breaks the trend that Nicki Minaj has - it is the first of her songs to not have a Hard rating, although the Extreme version of the song has a Hardest rating. This would be carried onto Bang Bang, which has no difficulty rating.
- If you look closely in the extreme choreography in the line "I just want you tonight", you'll see that the dancer's feet have a black hole in them (like the "armpits hair" in We R Who We R).
- If you view the Extreme routine in the eShop, the title will end with the word "test".
- At launch, the Classic routine as available on Just Dance Unlimited was not synced properly, with the video being approximately 1 line ahead of the music. This was later fixed.
- However, this is also present on the Just Dance Now preview. It has not been fixed.
- As seen in a tutorial video for downloading DLCs on Just Dance 2014 for your Wii U, the Extreme version was going to have a different square.[2][3]
- Another beta square was also found on the PAL version's instruction manual for downloading DLCs.
- The pose on the second Beta square is used as album coach on Just Dance Unlimited.
- If one views the routine selection menu of the song in Just Dance 2014 on their Xbox Smartglass app, they will notice that the app will show an unedited version of the Extreme coach in the square.[4]
- In the Just Dance Now files, there is a move that is named poundthealarm_powerrangers.msm, which is a reference to Power Rangers.[5]
- Gold Move 4 of the Extreme routine is similar to Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, but you don’t spin your body.
