"American Boy" by Estelle featuring Kanye West was featured on Just Dance 2 as a downloadable track but became unavailable for purchase following the shutdown of the Wii Shop Channel on January 30, 2019. The song remains playable on Just Dance: Summer Party. It can also be found in the Just Dance Unlimited and Just Dance Now files.

The dancers are a duet of a man and a woman with beige outlines.
P1[]
P1 is a man with short purple hair under a purple fedora with a pink ribbon. He wears a white long sleeved shirt with a purple collar and pink tie under a beige shirt with pink pocket slits, beige pants with pink highlights held by a pink belt with white buckle, and a white chain on the right side, and a pair of white sneakers with purple accents and pink shoelaces. He wears a magenta glove on his right hand.
P2[]
P2 is a woman with purple hair in a bun. She wears beige earrings. She wears a purple dress with pink ruffles and a pink rose placed above her right breast, a pink band around her waist, and purple and pink strapped high heels. She wears a soft orange glove on her right hand.
Remake[]
In the remake, both dancers are slightly more realistic and their outline is now purple. Their colour schemes also have changed.
P1[]
P1’s hair is now navy blue and his fedora is now navy blue with yellow-orange ribbon. His vest is now brown with blue pocket slits, the collar of his shirt is now navy blue, and his tie is now yellow-orange. His jeans is also brown with blue highlights and yellow belt with blue buckle, and the details on his white sneakers are now blue and yellow. His shirt and chain, however, remains white. His glove is now vivid orange.
P2[]
P2’s hair is now blue and her earrings are now brown. Her dress is now navy blue, all of the pink attributes are now yellow, and her heels are now blue, yellow, and brown. Her glove is now brown.
Background[]
Just Dance 2/Extra Songs[]
The routine takes place in a city at sunset that moves. Behind the dancers, there are silhouetted buildings with an overlay of an equalizer visualization on them. During the choruses and the first pre-chorus, silhouettes of lampposts with signs attached to them, road signs, and streetlights move past the dancers and the dancers pass over a silhouetted bridge as wavy lines of multiple colours appear in front of the dancers. The wavy lines appear again near the end of Kanye's verse and as the song ends. Occasionally, a flock of birds far in the city fly by. At the bridge, the sky changes to dusk.
Just Dance: Summer Party[]
In Just Dance: Summer Party, the equalizer from the buildings are gone.
Remake[]
In the remake, the silhouettes of the lampposts, road signs, and streetlights now appear more frequently. The bridge is now gone.
Gold Moves[]

Gold Move 1: While facing the left, curve your back slightly while pushing your arms behind your back. P2 does this in a slightly upward position than P1.

- "F**k" is censored.
- "Jeans", "hell", and "But I’mma like what’s underneath them" are censored in Just Dance 2: Extra Songs. However, none of these words are censored in Just Dance 2, Just Dance: Summer Party, or in the remake.
- This is the first time in the series which a full line is censored.
- The lyrics do not display an ellipsis (...) for censored lyrics. When "hell" is censored, it is replaced with a gap.
- "Jeans", "hell", and "But I’mma like what’s underneath them" are censored in Just Dance 2: Extra Songs. However, none of these words are censored in Just Dance 2, Just Dance: Summer Party, or in the remake.
- The lyric "Ribena, I know what you’re drinkin’" is misinterpreted as "Rappin’/I know what you’re drinkin’".
- The lyric "I’ll show you to my brethren" is misinterpreted as "I’ll show you to my bedroom".

Routine[]
- In an early promotional picture, the pictograms from Chicken Payback are erroneously used.
- During production, both of the pictograms were purple and the meters were different.
- There is a glitch in the shop on Just Dance 2 involving American Boy: when choosing to download Firework, the short preview shows the routine for American Boy instead of the correct one.
- In the trailer for Just Dance: Summer Party/Extra Songs, the coach for Pump Up The Volume is shown dancing in front of the background for American Boy.
- The menu icon in Just Dance 2 and Just Dance: Summer Party/Extra Songs is mirrored, resulting in the coaches being in the opposite positions and their gloves being on the wrong hands. This is fixed in the remake.
