"Apache (Jump On It)" by The Sugarhill Gang is featured on Just Dance 3 and Just Dance Now (for players who subscribed before April 9, 2024). The song was also featured on Just Dance Unlimited and 舞力无限, but was removed on August 1 and 2, 2024, respectively.
Appearance of the Dancer[]
Original[]
The dancer is a man with red face paint who wears an Apache-themed outfit consisting of a red feathery headdress with lime green feathers, a large green and red necklace, two red bands on each side of his arm with red feathers, dark red pants with red-tipped white feathers held up by light green strips, and brown socks. He also wears a lime green glove and he has a green outline.
Remake[]
In the remake, he is more realistic and his outfit was slightly darker. The red parts on his clothes are slightly brownish tint, and his outline glows more.
Background[]
Original[]
The routine takes place in front of a wall in an alley. There is a wall behind the dancer. There are a few buildings which move to the beat, and a sign that says "One way". On the wall, there are painted Indian totems, which glow during the chorus. There is also a ladder coming from one of the buildings.
Remake[]
In the remake, there are more visible buildings on the right side, and the ladder is moved to the building where the dancer is in front of. The background is also much brighter and is more saturated.
Mashup[]
Apache (Jump On It) has an unlockable Mashup. [GM] indicates a Gold Move.

Trivia[]
General[]
- Apache (Jump On It) is the first song by The Sugarhill Gang in the franchise.
- A re-recorded version of the song is used. This makes Apache (Jump On It) the second re-recorded song to appear in the series, after Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit of Monika).
- The line "But I’ll be brief" is misinterpreted as "But I’ll be real" in Just Dance 3. This mistake is fixed in the remake.
- However, in the remake, the line "I sting squaws then" is misinterpreted as "I see yoursquaws and" (with "your" and "squaws" incorrectly joined together in one word).
- Apache (Jump On It) references Monster Mash in the lyrics.
Classic[]
- Apache (Jump On It) and Party Rock Anthem are tied for the highest number of appearances in Mashups, with 21 each.
- However, this includes appearances in unused Mashups; otherwise, the total would be 19.
- Some of the moves in the chorus are taken from the eighth episode of Season 6 of The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air.
- In a trailer on Vimeo, there is a Beta pictogram that has arrow heads on both ends.
- In Just Dance 3, the pictograms have pine green arrows despite the coach’s glove being lime green.
- On January 20, 2012, Just Dance’s official YouTube channel posted a short video of Academy of Villains member Hennley creating a Just Create map for Apache (Jump On It) and challenging the other members to play it.
- In the remake, the pictogram made for the move before Gold Move 2 uses the Just Dance 3 model but has post-Just Dance 3 arrows.
- In the gameplay from dash.justdancenow.com, the Gold Move effect from Just Dance 2017 is used.
- In Just Dance Now, the routine is sometimes affected by a glitch where the pictograms are semitransparent and the lyrics are missing.[2]
Mashup[]
- In the menu icon, Rasputin is cut in half.
- In the Wii version of the Mashup, six beta pictograms are used for Apache (Jump On It).
- Gold Moves 1, 2, and 3 from Move Your Feet have been removed in the Mashup, thus counting as regular moves.
- In the first appearance of I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’, the first pictogram appears a bit earlier than the coach.
- In the Wii version of the Mashup, the Gold Move pictogram is pointed to a darker hue, is missing its outline, and its shading has been incorrectly moved to the top.
