"Applause" (Alternate) is featured on Just Dance 2014 as a downloadable track. It is also featured on Just Dance+, where it is referred to as "Stage version". The routine is the official choreography.
Appearance of the Dancers[]

The dancer is Joan, a woman whose outfit is inspired by the official music video. She has a white face paint, with smudged blue eye-shadow and orange, smudged lipstick. She also wears black ankle-length boots. She wears a bodysuit with flowing cuffs over the hands, and black spandex shorts and a black strapless bra are visible underneath. There is also a noticeable, fiery, static-like outline around the dancer as well.
Background[]
The routine takes place upon the same stage as the On-Stage routines, with various lights and an audience.
Gold Moves[]
There are 3 Gold Moves in this routine:
Gold Moves 1 and 3: Spread your arms out from your chest so that they are outstretched.
Gold Move 2: Raise your arms with a slight bend, as if you are flexing. Also, keep the rest of your body entirely straight.

Routine[]
- Applause (Alternate) is the only alternate routine in Just Dance 2014 not to have a specific label (excluding Kiss You, which is repurposed as a generic alternate routine on the Xbox One version of the game).
- It is the third such routine in the series, after those of Call Me Maybe and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.
- However, in Just Dance+, the label has been changed to "Stage version".
- It is the third such routine in the series, after those of Call Me Maybe and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.
- Joan’s name is likely a reference to Lady Gaga’s album Joanne, which also happens to be Gaga’s middle name.
- The routine uses the background of the other On-Stage routines, despite lacking many of the features characteristic of an On-Stage Mode routine (such as the lyrics in the middle of the screen).
- The filename of one pictogram references Batman.[2]
- A very short video of the routine was leaked on November 21, 2013.[citation needed]
- An unused album coach can be found in the DLC files of Just Dance 2014.
- An edited version of Joan’s avatar can be found in the Just Dance 2015 files, but is unavailable in-game.
- Joan partially appears in one of the concept images for Freyja.
- In Just Dance+, Joan’s coach selection image is reused from Just Dance 2014, thus fading at the bottom, unlike every other coach selection image in Just Dance 2023 Edition since the 1.0.4 update.
- In Just Dance+, the HUD has been updated to only fade in at the beginning of the first verse (unlike in Just Dance 2014, where it is visible for the entire routine).
- In Just Dance+, the last pictogram of the routine is displayed twice, unlike in Just Dance 2014.
