"Basket Case" by Green Day is featured on Just Dance 2025 Edition. It was also available on Just Dance+ for a limited time from August 20, 2024, to September 3, 2024.
This song also has an alternate routine titled "Bathtub Version".
Appearance of the Dancers[]
The routine features a trio consisting of a man and two drawings he created that "came to life." Each has a thick white outline with a shorter black outline beneath it.
P1[]
P1 is a purple scuba diver named Zephyr Reef. He wears a purple scuba diving suit with orange accents and a polka dot pattern on the chest area, including a matching scuba mask and snorkel, a buoyancy compensator device with black straps, and fins. He has a pink glove. During the bridge scene, he holds a pair of orange fish, which he uses as drumsticks.
P2[]
P2 is Lumen Brooks. He wears a yellow raincoat with black accents, decorated with pink, red, purple, and cyan doodles, as well as black geometric shapes, arrows, and black polka dot patterns in some areas. He also wears a yellow shirt, cyan shorts, and yellow boots with black accents, green soles, and a black streak down the middle of each boot. His cyan hair is unkempt and untidy, has cyan eyebrows, and he wears a cyan glove. During the bridge, he holds a pink umbrella.
P3[]
P3 is a red male punk named Crimson Riff. He wears a ripped yellow shirt with a polka dot pattern, a black and red vest with a yellow chain on the left, and various accessories that are predominantly black and yellow. These include a belt choker, multiple studded wristbands on both arms, a studded armband, and two belts—one of which is studded. He also wears a black finger-less glove on the left, ripped red pants with black accents, and red shoes with multiple black straps. His hair is styled in a yellow mohawk, has yellow eyebrows, and he wears a finger-less blue glove. During the bridge, he holds a cardboard representation of a yellow lamp, which he uses as a makeshift guitar.
Background[]
The routine takes place in the hand-drawn interior of a house. The title card of the song is displayed, followed by Lumen Brooks drawing Zephyr Reef and Crimson Riff in their outlines. As he gives a high five to Zephyr Reef and a rock gesture on Crimson Riff, they become colored. During the first verse, there is a living room with a couch, windows, picture frames, and cabinet with some animals. Elements of the room briefly flash in color, and as more instruments come in towards the first instrumental riff, colors began to appear in the living room, which now flashes into yellow, lime green, and turquoise.
During the second chorus, the scene changes to a bathroom featuring gooses, cats, an astronaut goose on the window, a cow and a venus flytrap on the bathtub, which like the first scene, later becomes colorful. During the long instrumental portion, the room becomes dark and 3 spotlights appears on the trio, and a discoball-like pineapple appears in the background. After performing the first Gold Move, the three dancers now hold their respective paraphernalia. At the last chorus, the bathroom is now drawn in blue outline and a yellow floor. Lumen Brooks now holds an umbrella upward and dodges flying clothespins. During the instrumental outro, the room becomes colorful again and many objects are seen rapidly flying around and all animals are seen in the bathtub. When the dancers perform the second Gold Move, the movements slowly begin to stop moving.
Gold Moves[]
There are 2 Gold Moves in this routine:
Gold Move 1: This is a wave Gold Move which occurs in the following order:
- P1: Heading to the left, slowly lift both your hands up.
- P3: Heading to the right, slowly lift both your hands up.
- P2: Slowly lift both your hands up.
Gold Move 2: Punch the air with your right fist. P1 and P3 do so while facing P2.

Routine[]
- Basket Case is the second routine to have a coach dancing with an umbrella, after Umbrella (With an Umbrella).
- Basket Case was the first routine from Just Dance 2025 Edition to have been revealed to have three different difficulty levels for each coach, thus also counting as the first instance in the main series.
- This makes Just Dance 2025 Edition the second game across the whole franchise to do so, after Michael Jackson: The Experience.
- On Just Dance+, however, the overall routine was labelled under the Easy difficulty.
- Basket Case and Calabria 2007 are the first two routines that can be played with camera scoring with more than one coach.
- Basket Case is also the first routine to be playable via camera scoring with a difficulty higher than Medium, as Crimson Riff's choreography has a difficulty as Hard.
- Unlike other maps from Just Dance 2023 Edition onwards, the coaches’ names were not displayed when the choreography was first released on Just Dance+.
- The difficulty levels were added on August 22, 2024 but, due to coding constraints, they were displayed in the same font and character size as the coaches’ names and aligned to the left instead of having different font colors and being placed in the middle (like in the announcement trailer for Just Dance 2025 Edition).
- The following day, the difficulty levels were aligned to the middle but the coaches’ names were removed.
- Their names were brought back in the release of Just Dance 2025 Edition with their difficulties colored.
