Throughout the series, Ubisoft has had numerous collaborations with various other companies. This has resulted in brand exclusive songs, dance contests, and promotional materials among other things.

Brands[]

The following brands have collaborated with the series in the past and present:

Arby’s[]

Arby’s is an American fast food sandwich restaurant chain based in Ohio, United States. The brand collaborated with Ubisoft to create Arby’s Just Dance, an app that was released on November 13, 2020, before it was removed from app stores in late 2021 or early 2022.

Best Buy[]

Best Buy Co. Inc (also known as "Best Buy") is an American multinational consumer electronics retailer based in Richfield, Minnesota. The brand was also involved in the distribution of brand exclusive editions for Just Dance 2 and Just Dance 3, which includes exclusive routines. These exclusives are only available in the NTSC regions.

The following songs and their respective games are presented as it follows:

Bubbleology[]

Bubbleology is a beverage brand based in London, England that specializes with bubble teas. The brand was involved with Just Dance for a collaboration of a flavor, dubbed as "Bubblegum Blitz".

Cheetos[]

Cheetos is a crunchy corn puff snack brand made by Frito-Lay and based in the United States. The brand collaborated with Ubisoft for the promotion of the brand and created two routines for the promotion; Brand New Start and You Make Me Feel.... The routines are code redeemable, with the codes found in a Cheetos bag, and are exclusive for the NTSC versions of Just Dance 4. You Make Me Feel... was distributed as a DLC for the PAL region and then to the NTSC regions after the promotion ended, while Brand New Start no longer became accessible. Additionally, certain props in You Make Me Feel... that featured Chester Cheetah were removed in each subsequent appearance.

Fanta[]

Fanta is an American-owned German brand of fruit-flavored carbonated soft drinks created by Coca-Cola Deutschland, serving as the German substitute at the time. Fanta collaborated with Ubisoft for the "Just Dance Challenge", with the hashtag #JustDanceMACChallenge. It was hosted in Chile on Festigame 2019, substituting MAC Cosmetics as the sponsor. Just Dance Community Member TheFairyDina also took part in a Fanta commercial in spirit of the sponsor.

Garnier Fructis CA[]

Garnier (also known as "Garnier Fructis CA") is a mass market cosmetics brand of French cosmetics company L'Oréal, based in France. The brand collaborated with Ubisoft in the creation of Safe And Sound, where it is an exclusive redeemable song for the NTSC versions of Just Dance 2014 for Canada.

The routine eventually became unlockable through UPlay in the United States of America before it was distributed worldwide in streaming services. Additionally, the words "Boost Your Style" appear on Just Dance 2014 and was subsequently removed in each subsequent appearance.

Liverpool[]

Liverpool (also known as "El Puerto de Liverpool S.A.B. de C.V.") is a Mexican company that operates shopping malls, department stores, and restaurants. In 2016 they collaborated with Ubisoft Latin America to have the opportunity to win a meet and greet and participate in an autograph signing with Maluma[2][3], the only condition being to buy the game for any platform in any store and register it in a web application on Facebook. The meeting took place on November 8 in Liverpool Polanco[4].

In 2019 they collaborated with MAC Cosmetics to carry out the Mexican classification of the Just Dance Mac Challenge.

Popchips[]

Popchips is an American brand of popped potato and corn products. The brand collaborated with Ubisoft in a promotional collaboration with Katy Perry, who is a celebrity endorser for the brand. This produced the routine for Waking Up in Vegas, which is an exclusive redeemable song in Just Dance 2014 only for the NTSC region. The song was later made available for download in both the NTSC and PAL regions before the sponsorship expired in December 2014.

MAC Cosmetics[]

MAC Cosmetics is a cosmetics brand based in Toronto, Canada. Its Mexican branch has collaborated with Ubisoft in 2019 for the "Just Dance MAC Challenge", with the hashtag #JustDanceMACChallenge. It was hosted in various countries with different places and events. In Mexico it was through different Liverpool department stores from November 8, 2019 to December 1, 2019, in Colombia it was in "Salon Del Ocio y Fantasía 2019", in Argentina it was in the "Argentina Game Show", and in Brazil it was in "CCXP 2019" and the Online Final. In Chile, the brand was sponsored by Fanta instead.

McDonald's[]

McDonald's is an American multinational fast-food chain based in San Bernardino, California. On March 18, 2023, it was announced that a set of collectibles, featuring ten randomly selected coaches[5], would be released from March 30, 2023 to May 3, 2023 exclusively for Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. The collectibles can also be scanned with a QR code. All collectibles would be found in every Happy Meal purchased.[6]

Reebok[]

Reebok International Limited (also known as "Reebok") is an American fitness footwear and clothing brand based in Bolton, England. The brand collaborated with Ubisoft to create My Way, featuring the coaches in clothing made by Reebok. The song was first featured in Just Dance 2022 as a playable routine.

Schick[]

Schick is an American brand of personal care and safety razors currently owned by Edgewell Personal Care.

There was originally a set of promotions for Schick, as evident by a webpage for an unused collaboration with Schick that was found in the Ubisoft servers.[7] The collaboration was meant to redeem Stadium Flow's Mashup[8] using Uplay for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Wii U versions of the game.[9]

Target[]

Target is an American retail corporation based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The brand was also involved in the distribution of a brand exclusive edition Just Dance 3, featuring Airplanes and Only Girl (In The World). A Target exclusive version of Just Dance 2015 was also distributed, this time with a Wii Remote Plus in its package.

The Coca-Cola Company[]

The Coca-Cola Company is an American multinational corporation best known for the production of Coca-Cola, and is based in Atlanta, Georgia. From 2014 to 2016, the brand collaborated with Ubisoft to create Coca-Cola themed routines, resulting in five routines that were distributed in their respective games before being added to the streaming services. These songs were initially restricted from NTSC regions and distributed to Just Dance Now before they were released in streaming services worldwide.

Toys "R" Us[]

Toys "R" Us (also known as "ToysЯus") is an American toy, clothing, and baby product retailer originally based in Washington, D.C.. The brand was involved in distributing a brand exclusive edition of The Smurfs Dance Party, which exclusively comes with Walking on Sunshine, which was also shared with its Walmart counterpart.

Walmart[]

Walmart (previously known as "Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.") is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, department stores and grocery stores while originally based in Bentonville, Arkansas.

The brand was involved in distributing two brand exclusive editions of spinoff games, which also include exclusive routines. The Collectors Edition of Michael Jackson: The Experience features Another Part Of Me as its brand exclusive routine, as well as a glove bundle styled after Michael Jackson’s famous shimmering glove. The Smurfs Dance Party features Walking on Sunshine as its brand exclusive routine, which was also shared with its Toys "R" Us counterpart.

The brand was also involved in the unlockable routine of Barbra Streisand (Extreme Version) together with Kellogg’s, where it was claimed by the official Just Dance YouTube channel to reveal the code via purchasing a Kellogg’s product from Walmart.

Walmart also had a store exclusive version of Just Dance 2 that featured the same 3 songs from the Best Buy Edition, Should I Stay or Should I Go, Funkytown, and Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny).

Zellers[]

Zellers was a Canadian discount store chain operating from 1931 to 2013 and based on London, Ontario. The brand was also involved in the distribution of a brand exclusive edition Just Dance 3, featuring Airplanes and Only Girl (In The World), which was also shared with its Target counterpart.

Trivia[]

General[]

  • The unused Schick collaboration was the only collaboration to use a website instead of an in-game menu.
  • PAL copies of Just Dance games do not have a redeem button.
  • In every game with a brand-exclusive song, at least one additional song is made available for the PAL region as a downloadable track or a spin-off.
  • The first brand-exclusive maps of the Just Dance series were only available via NTSC copies of their respective games.
    • In the PAL region, Airplanes and Only Girl (In The World) are only available on the Xbox 360 version of Just Dance 3, through the Special Edition.

Brand-specific[]

  • On McDonald’s official website, the following anomalies and inconsistencies can be noticed:
    • Marisol’s top has been edited to cover her entire torso.
    • Kitta is referred to as Kulikita Cat.
      • In the announcement post on Instagram, "Kulikita Cat" is misspelled as "Kulkita Cat".[10]
    • In the file name for the picture of its toy, Maloo’s name is spelled as "Maalco".
    • Rudolf is referred to as Reece on the website and as Rudy on the file name for the picture of his toy.
    • Toys for The Traveler and Dougie can be seen in the main McDonald’s website[5], although they are absent in the official promotional post.[6]
    • Just Dance is also referenced at the beginning of this Filipino McDonald's adverisement.
