"Darkest Hour" by The Rising Swan is featured on Just Dance+ and 舞力无限.
Appearance of the Dancers[]
The dancer is a ballerina named Leda (formerly referred to as Leda Nox),[3] who is actually Night Swan before she became a sorceress. She has a short structured black hair with a pink top layer. Her makeup includes pink eyebrows, black eyeshadow, and soft pink lipstick. She is accessorized with cherry red triangular drop earrings. She also wears a pink leotard with feather details, tucked into wide-leg leather pants. Over this ensemble, she sports a cropped leather jacket. Lastly, she wears black high heels and a pink glove.
Background[]
This section is a stub. You can help by adding to it.
The background takes place at the Cygnus Factory, located in Eternyx. Multiple mechanical heads are present.
The routine starts with a giant robotic face shooting smoke in the air and then it shows Leda standing before the dance starts. She later enters the face and inside features a factory of more faces that open in half. After the last one opens, it features a cybernetic hologram head staring at the coach with glitches all over its head. Then, it turns to another Leda (in her imagination) made of pink smoke. Leda turns back to the factory, later then, Leda creates magical smoke and she is outside of Cygnus, and Leda is dancing. After the Gold Move, Leda is “flying” throughout the city and the faces in the back are shutting down. In the end of the routine, an eyeball can be seen revealing Night Swan staring at the screen.
Gold Moves[]
There is 1 Gold Move in this routine:
Gold Move: Throw your hands up to the right.
Trivia[]
General[]
- Darkest Hour is the second Ubisoft original in the history of Just Dance to be exclusively available on an online song catalog, after Hua Li Tian Hou.
- Darkest Hour and Lump are the second and third maps to be released on 舞力无限 outside of a season or a game bundle, after Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.
- Darkest Hour is included in Just Dance 2025: Original Creations (Original Game Soundtrack) despite being from the Just Dance 2024 Edition era of Just Dance+.
- Two of the songwriters of the song, Jessi Collins and Emily Sanderson, are uncredited in the soundtrack unlike the Just Dance+ credits.
- Leda appears as a vinyl in the background of Vogue.
Routine[]
- Darkest Hour was the fourth routine to be released in more than one online music service on the same day (in this case, Just Dance+ and 舞力无限), after Get Ugly, Juju On That Beat, and No Lie (in Just Dance Unlimited and Just Dance Now).
- The routine was originally meant to be used for Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).
- The codename, which is based on the title of the original song, was accidentally displayed when viewing the achievement "Enter the Dark Flow".[1]
- The aforementioned achievement references Enter the Danceverses.
- Despite this, the file name for the promotional banner for the map is still "BannerDarkestHour Banner Coach.png", likely because it was created after the map itself.
- The codename, which is based on the title of the original song, was accidentally displayed when viewing the achievement "Enter the Dark Flow".[1]
- Upon the release of Darkest Hour in Just Dance+, some subtle changes were applied to the routine.
- As Leda lip-syncs to the originally intended song, the keying on her face has been altered to make her lips significantly less visible.
- As a consequence, when Leda’s head in the background lip-syncs to the second and third vocalizations, her lips do not match the vocalist’s voice.
- Despite this, the coach selection image, as seen in promotional art for the event, retains the original, more visible lips, albeit with a soft pink color. This is also the case with the promotional banner.
- In Just Dance, the in-game banner that announces the release of the map reuses the final coach selection image with the lighter lipstick tone, but the assets are based on the ones that were made for Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).
- Despite this, the coach selection image, as seen in promotional art for the event, retains the original, more visible lips, albeit with a soft pink color. This is also the case with the promotional banner.
- As a consequence, when Leda’s head in the background lip-syncs to the second and third vocalizations, her lips do not match the vocalist’s voice.
- In the outro, Night Swan’s eyes were recolored from green to yellow and some shading effects have been applied to her face, in order to conform her to the changes in her appearance seen from Enter the Danceverses to Dance with the Swan.
- As Leda lip-syncs to the originally intended song, the keying on her face has been altered to make her lips significantly less visible.
- The routine can be seen in the background of Can’t Stop the Feeling! (Danceverses Prince Version).
- Some of the background elements were reused for Beggin’.
- On Just Dance’s French Instagram and Twitter accounts, the release announcement post for the map incorrectly displayed the song title of Survivor before being taken down.[4]
- In the promotional short posted on May 17, 2024, the no HUD for Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) is used instead of the final one, as evidenced by the visible lipstick.[5]
- Five unused pictograms can be found in the Just Dance+ files.
