舞力全开 (also known as Just Dance China) is a game in the Just Dance series. It is a Chinese version of Just Dance 2020, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. A PS4 port and Xbox One port was also planned but ultimately scrapped.

Gameplay and Features

The Chinese version of Just Dance 2020 shares similar features with its international counterpart. However, there are still some changes:

• All Stars Mode is removed from the game.
• World Dance Floor is changed to "national" dance floor, which is a separate World Dance Floor and only features players of this game.
• The game's controller app is a WeChat Mini Program instead of a standalone app.
• Just Dance Unlimited is replaced with 舞力无限, which returning songs are added each week.
  • Weekly releases have been stopped since December 14, 2023.

Through updates in later seasons, more changes were applied:

• Quickplay Mode is added to the game, but with a fire icon instead of the triangle icon from the main series.
  • Some bugs of the mode are also fixed, including:
    • If one quits and then starts again, the mode plays a different song (as opposed to the main series, where the mode always starts with the same song).
    • 舞力无限 songs now have the same chances as the songs in the base game of being played.
    • Songs are now selected randomly, as opposed to the main series.
• A reminder of Happy Hour has been added to the game and pops up when Happy Hour starts.
• A sorting called "Recently added" is added to the game.
• In the Search tab, a "History" function is added to show the latest played songs.
• On November 22, 2022, the possibility to create online rooms with friends was added, akin to Just Dance 2023 Edition.
  • "Online Mode" is added between the home page and the playlist tab, which includes the online room feature and World Dance Floor. The World Dance Floor entrance is also replaced by Online Mode.
  • Only playlists can be played in the mode. Each person can make a public or private room with a room code by choosing a playlist, other people can join through typing in the room code or join one public room randomly through the lobby.
• Updates of the World Dance Floor happen starting from Season 32:
  • Starting from September 28, 2023, it starts to include 舞力无限 songs even when it’s not Happy Hours.
  • Starting from October 13, 2023, Glitchy left the World Dance Floor and was replaced by other bosses.

Menu and Design

舞力全开 uses the same menu and gameplay interface introduced in Just Dance 2019.

Some deviations from its main series counterpart include the following:

• The use of translated Chinese lyrics which auto-scroll with the music and are not highlighted, replacing the original English highlighted lyrics.
• After Season 7, there is a calorie bar under each of the player’s names, replacing Sweat Mode. It can be turned on or off in the settings.
• Menu designs are changed to the theme of Just Dance 2022 after the release of Just Dance 2022 songs. However, during some special holidays, menu designs may also be changed to the respective themes for a limited time, including Chinese New Year in Season 12.
• A QR code was added on the top right of the results screen, which allows players to share their scores with others by an image generated automatically.

Trivia

• Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life, Fancy Footwork, Fit But You Know It, and I Like It are the only maps from the international unpatched release of Just Dance 2020 that are not featured in this game. They were all later added to 舞力无限.
  • Both of the maps added to the international version of Just Dance 2020 via online connection, namely Bad Guy (Billie Version) and Into the Unknown, are only playable through 舞力无限.
• Just Dance China is the third game in the Just Dance franchise to have a song removed from the main tracklist after the game was released (in this case, 大碗宽面 (Da Wan Kuan Mian)).
• Similar to 舞力全开：活力派 and 舞力全开2017, non-Chinese song titles are translated in Chinese.
  • However, these titles are noted as translations for reference ("参考翻译").
• The stock players, which is "Happy", "Jazzy", "Crazy", "Funky", "Sunny" and "Baby" in the main series, are named after potato snacks and dishes, i.e. "薯饼", "薯片", "薯角", "薯格", "薯条", and "薯泥".
  • This is because of the bad quality of servers and internet that Ubisoft has in China, causing people to call the servers "potato servers", which is a slang used for saying that some servers are bad, mostly Ubisoft.
• In the introduction screen for the 舞力无限 purchase, the menu icons of Call Me Maybe, Dançando, Think, and What You Waiting For? are visible, despite none of these songs being available in the service.
  • For Think and What You Waiting For?, the respective Just Dance 3 menu icons are used instead of the remade ones.
• Stickers with English text on them have been translated into Chinese.
