This page is for the playlists on Just Dance Now.

History[]

Playlists within Just Dance Now were originally styled similar to those from Just Dance Unlimited, in addition to a separate playlist that lists songs alphabetically or by specific characteristics.

An update in August 2020 cause an overhaul design change, where they are now still similar to playlists from Just Dance 2019, featuring menu icons that feature coaches that are part of the playlist. The playlist icons themselves also undergo style changes each year, with the notable changes starting within the summer of each year.

From August 2020 until May 2022, the playlist icons feature coaches in front of color altered backgrounds of other routines as well as official assets from their promotional materials (e.g., season backgrounds).

From May 2022 to December 2022, almost every coach featured in the playlist icons have customized outlines, with many changed to white that is either faded or bolded. Additionally, the backgrounds in the icons are now highly varied rather than mainly featured color altered versions of their respective backgrounds, with the newer backgrounds reflecting on the titles the playlists have. Some playlist icons also do not feature coaches at all,

Starting from December 2022, the playlist icon style almost remains the same from the previous style. However, several of the icons now have additional effects, such as dramatic lighting, 3D shadow effects on the coaches and atmospheric details on the icons. Many of the coaches also have their outlines removed to complement the icon's backgrounds.

"Your First Dance" is a playlist for Just Dance Now. It is a specially curated playlist designed for users who downloaded and opened Just Dance Now for the first time. Once a song is selected, the playlist automatically disappears from the playlist tab.

"Your Favorites" is a playlist for Just Dance Now. It is a specially designed playlist where it stores all of the songs that a user favorited, allowing them to play their favorite songs from time to time without going through different playlists or the songs tab. The playlist will only appear if at least one song is favorited.

Recommended For You[]

"Recommended For You" is a playlist for Just Dance Now. The playlist is specially curated to feature brand new songs and routines that were added to the channel.

    • January 14, 2024: A phone-based glitch occurs, where "Your Favorites!" playlist was removed from the playlist selection[1], due to being tagged as a "time-limited" playlists[2]. Can still be selected on the website version. (Fixed on January 17, 2024)
    • January 3, 2024: "Groove Fam 2024" was moved from below "Gratitude Groove" to below "January Jam" upon the new playlist's release.
    • December 26, 2023: Majesty was added to "Recommended For You".
    • December 20, 2023: Wouldn’t It Be Nice was added to "Recommended For You".

Trivia[]

  • Some songs are consistently featured in themed playlists despite not matching their theme:
    • Animals is featured in "Dancing in the Wild!" in spite of the routine not featuring animal coaches.
    • Bangarang (Extreme Version) is featured in "Krazy Pop K-pop", despite the song not being made by a Korean band or artist.
      • Let Me Love You was also featured in the first iteration of the playlist. It was removed on the subsequent re-releases, but is still present in the playlist icon for the third re-release.
  • Some playlists are references to pop cultural elements or other songs in the Just Dance series:
  • "Top Tango" and "Tender Tango" are playlists that share the same playlist icon assets and song themes, and were advertised for the fall months. However, "Tender Tango" was released during Winter 2024 instead rather than in Fall 2023.
