"Groove Is in the Heart" by Deee-Lite is featured on Just Dance (where it was also on the demo).
Appearance of the Dancer[]
The dancer is a woman whose appearance is based on Lady Miss Kier as she appears in the song’s music video. She has fuchsia pink hair in a bob cut with her forehead covered by a yellowish orange headband. She wears a fuchsia pink top with a short cleavage and yellowish orange collars, pocket accents, and sleeve ends. She also wears a pair of fuchsia pink leggings, with yellowish-orange patterns decorated on the leg sleeves, as well as a pair of oxford platform high heels with yellowish orange heels and white accents, and a pair of fuchsia pink circular glasses.
Background[]
The routine takes place in a room with a wall that contains a spiral. The spiral is colored blue and aquamarine and constantly changes from a blue to an aqua shade.
Shake Moves[]
There is 1 Shake Move in this routine:
Shake Move: Shake both of your shoulders up and down while they are low.
Trivia[]
General[]
- The song has been shortened by nine seconds in-game.
- The following mistakes can be noticed in the in-game lyrics:
- "We’re gonna groove to" is misinterpreted as "We’re Going thru to".
- "Horton hears a who" is misspelled as "Horten hears a who".
- Despite every word of the song title being capitalised in the music video title and in music streaming services, Just Dance spells it as "Groove Is in the Heart".
- In the Amazon page for Just Dance, "Is" is not capitalised, either; additionally, the band’s name is misspelled as "Dee-Lite" (with two E’s instead of three).[4]
- While he is uncredited, this is the first song by Q-Tip in the series.
- Funplex (CSS Remix) was erroneously played in the final take of Groove Is In The Heart in the behind the scenes twice.
Routine[]
- Groove Is in the Heart, Bebe, Kids in America, and Funplex (CSS Remix), are the only maps from Just Dance that have a background that changes color.
- Groove Is in the Heart is one of the six coaches from Just Dance to never be used in Mashups or Puppet/Party Master Modes, along with Bebe, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Lump, Surfin’ Bird, and Womanizer.
- Groove Is in the Heart and Warm Up are the only routines from Just Dance that have not been found in the Just Dance Now files yet (as of the major update on August 10, 2020).
- The routine uses some moves from the music video.
- The coach’s hairstyle and headband also resemble Lady Miss Kier’s appearance in the music video, albeit with different colors.
- In a similar fashion to Pump Up the Jam and Fame, a different coach is used for Groove Is in the Heart in the Just Dance trailer.
- In the Just Dance files, an early version of the menu icon, which replaces the background with a purple horizontal gradient, can be found.
- In addition, the coach’s facial features are more visible, the yellow parts of her outfit are in a darker shade and she has a fuchsia outline.
