Trivia[]
General[]
- Hung Up is the fourth song by Madonna in the series.
- It is her third song that is not covered.
- It is also her first song in the main series to not be a Solo routine.
- The radio edit of the song is used.
- The song samples Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight).
- The song also samples the ticking clock from Jacques Lu Cont’s remix of What You Waiting For?, as both Hung Up and said remix of What You Waiting For? are produced by Stuart Price.[2]
- Among the first batch of revealed songs of Just Dance 2026 Edition, the teasers for Hung Up and Houdini were posted on YouTube one day before the others by Just Dance content creators in collaboration with Ubisoft.
- Besides, both teasers were not posted by the official Just Dance account along with the others the next day. Instead, they were released four days later, on August 5th, 2025.
Routine[]
- Hung Up is the only routine in Just Dance 2026 Edition to have multiple difficulty ratings.
- Ray’s name is likely inspired by Madonna’s album Ray of Light.
- Some moves, as well as the lights from the boomboxes, reference the official music video for the song.
- The move where Sabrina leans toward Ray and Sonny on the intro and bridge is reminiscent from Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) (On-Stage Mode). However, choreographer Bear Zhang stated that the resemblance was not intentional.[3]
- Some pictograms in the chorus have slightly different shading, with Sabrina’s being darker than usual.
