Just Dance 2 (abbreviated JD2) is a music game developed and published by Ubisoft Paris for the Wii. It is a sequel to Just Dance. It was released in North America on November 21, 2010. There are 44 new tracks and new modes. A sequel, Just Dance 3, was released in October 2011. The concept of the game is the same as the original Just Dance. Requiring only one Wii remote per player, up to four people can play at a time, as they follow the on-screen choreographed moves set to classic dance tracks. There are four new dance modes. In "Just Dance Mode" , players can get together and dance for as long as they want, just for the fun of it. Other options include, "Nonstop Shuffle" for a non-stopping gameplay, and "Medleys" in which short pieces of 5 songs are mixed. The second new mode, "Duets" allows players to dance together, and in the process forces them to pay more attention to the players around than instead of simply following on-screen prompts. "Dance Battle Mode" is a team mode that features up to 8 player support. The individual scores are the basis of the overall team scores. Lastly is " Just Sweat Mode" , which is an exercise mode that allows players to measure the energy they expend while dancing as well as set objectives to be met during their dance sessions.

Trivia
*2 is the first game to feature downloadable tracks , alternate routines, and duets.

*2 is the first game to have the squares cropped into a different shape (in this case, a circle). It is followed by 3 (which did the same thing), the Wii, Wii U, and PS3 versions of 4 (cropping the squares into a "D" shape), and the eighth generation versions of 2018 (which crop the squares into super ellipses).

*2 is the first game where Gold Moves appear. In the previous 1 installment, the moves with bonus points exist as Shake Moves.

*This is the only game in the series where, in duet routines, the lyrics are displayed at the bottom center and the pictograms slide from both sides of the screen.

*This is the first game in the series to have store-exclusive songs. It is later followed by 3.

*This is the last game in the series to only be available for the Wii (excluding sp). 3 opened compatibility to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, 4 to the Wii U, 2014 to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, 2017 to the Nintendo Switch and PC, and 2020 to Google Stadia.

**It would also be the last game until 2019 to not be available for the PlayStation 3, and the last until 2020 to not be available for the Xbox 360.

*In the files, the Contest Winners extractions have incorrect code names; Sams routine appears as contest3, Mandys routine appears as contest1 and Lianas routine appears as contest2.

Just Dance 2 Coverart

The cover released for Just Dance 2.
