Just Dance VR (also subtitled Welcome to Dancity) is a virtual reality game that was released on October 15, 2024, for the Meta Quest 2, 3, 3S, and Pro headsets.[2][3]
The game is the third attempt at a VR adaptation of the Just Dance series, following an unreleased prototype for a VR version of Just Dance 2017 shown at E3 2016[4] and a subsequent planned 2023 release for the Pico 4 headset that was ultimately scrapped and reworked into the Meta version.[3]
The VR game was first announced in September 2022, where it was planned to be released in 2023 as a collaboration with Pico as an exclusive for the Pico 4 headset.[3] However, throughout 2023, Just Dance VR’s status became uncertain following layoffs at ByteDance, Pico’s parent company, and poor sales performance of the Pico 4 headset.[5][6] In November 2023, it was revealed to VR gaming news site UploadVR via email that Ubisoft is "working with a new partner for Just Dance VR", with further details such as release dates to be revealed at a later time.[7] It would later be revealed at Ubisoft Forward on June 10, 2024, as a Meta Quest exclusive.
Track List[]
There are 25 tracks in this game, all of which are Solo.[2][8]
The VR prototype of Just Dance 2017 was played by Australian Just Dance YouTuber Jayden Rodriguez at E3 2016, but it was never released, and no further developments were made until the announcement of the Pico port.
On the official website for the Pico VR system, the file name of the promotional image for Just Dance 2023 Edition is misspelled as "jest-dance.png".[9]
