Appearance of the Dancer[]
The dancer is a celebrity performer named Jack Rose. He is a man with short combed burgundy hair, with golden earrings, burgundy eyebrows and dark red lips. He wears a burgundy suit, with a dark violet undershirt that has a mini-cravat pinned by a golden ringed-feather pin. On his right shoulder is a large and broad pink feather boa, held tight by a black leather straps with golden buckles on his shoulder and across his chest, passing under his left underarm. There is also a black leather pocket lining on the right side, which has a loose golden chain hanging from it. He also wears a pair of black long socks, and black leather oxford shoes, with golden buckles and front segments. He also has a pair of gloves, one dark violet and the other gold. In some segments of the routine, a black cane with a golden mic attached to it is spontaneously generated on the dancer’s left hand. He has a faint red light-like faded outline.
Before the song begins, a child version of Jack is seen in a flashback. He is not wearing his earrings, jacket, feather boa, and gloves yet, but he wears a dark violet shirt with sleeves reaching his elbows and a gold chain necklace with his ringed-feather emblem attached.
Background[]
The routine takes place at the Swan Tower, located in Cygnus, Eternyx. It starts with a brief flashback at a young Jack Rose practicing the choreography in front of a mirror. The camera zooms out to reveal Night Swan, his mother, watching him practice his moves by a doorway.
The dance then transitions to adult Jack dancing in front of mirrors reflecting his moves. He’s standing on a golden platform with a feather engraved into it and lights on its borders. When the chorus starts, the platform raising the dancer stops at the entrance of the tower with fans surrounding the area. Some of the fans hold up a sign marked "I LOVE U JACK ♡". When the next verse is sung, Jack Rose goes back to the room with mirrors.
On the second chorus, the platform transitions to a different area of the tower - the same one as in Majesty. In this area, it’s possible to see part of the tower, resembling some sort of skyscraper. This area has another crowd of fans as well giant screens displaying Jack Rose himself. During the bridge, the lights turn from yellow to blue as the tower in the background splits to reveal a giant Night Swan statue, whose face is projected onto the screens as helicopters fly by. When "Ooh" is sung, Night Swan pops up for a second on all the mirrors.
When the routine comes to a close, the platform returns to the starting mirror room as it shows Night Swan observing her son once more. After she leaves, a portal opens as Sara, Wanderlust, Discoball, Brezziana, and Mihaly walk through.

- However, this is his sixth song in the entire franchise, including Just the Way You Are (from Just Dance Kids 2 and The Smurfs Dance Party).

- Among all Classic routines to use a prop, Locked Out of Heaven is the eighth one where the prop is only used for a specific period, after You Can’t Hurry Love, Flying Get, Holding Out for a Hero, Kool Kontact, What Is Love, Let’s Party (飞艇派对), and You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).
- Up until the third set of songs revealed, the preview gameplay of Locked Out of Heaven was the only one for Just Dance 2023 Edition where six players are scoring. Every other preview from the first two sets has five players.
- However, gameplay footage with five players was used for the Song List First Reveal video.[2]
- The routine was recorded with five rectangular lights tilted towards the coach and placed around him in a quasi-hexagonal shape, to create unusual lighting effects.
- Night Swan, who is Jack Rose’s mother, makes cameos in the background.

- Jack Rose’s avatar quote in Just Dance 2023 Edition ("With a mother like mine, who needs enemies?") is a play on the idiom "with friends like you, who needs enemies?".

- In Enter the Danceverses, Jack Rose is first seen in Witch, which comes before Locked Out of Heaven.
- In Your Eyes (Remix) in Just Dance 2025 Edition revealed that Jack Rose first learnt the choreography from The Traveler.
