Party Mode is a mode that was first introduced with the Just Dance 2026 Edition update to the Just Dance service.

Gameplay[]

The feature includes various activities and challenges. These involve dancing to shortened sections of routines (such as Short Versions and Medley), known as “tests”, while Disturbance and Actions occur throughout the maps.

At the start, each party chooses from three difficulty levels and lengths:

  • There are 5 tests in the Short length, 8 tests in the Medium length, and 12 tests in the Long length.
  • Depending on the chosen difficulty, the maps’ difficulty, as well as the number of Disturbance and Actions, vary.

Scores are represented by a laboratory bar instead of a starbar. Players must earn a specific percentage of the score to pass each test. Both the map difficulty and the required score percentage gradually increase. In each test, a random routine is selected from the entire catalogue the player owns, including all Just Dance Editions and Just Dance+. Players receive five “shuffles” per test to switch to a different routine. If players fail a test, they can choose to retry the same map or use a remaining shuffle to change to another map.

Disturbance and Actions occur throughout the map, indicated by a warning sign in the pictogram bar. These sections offer a short time frame to earn extra points. Each section uses a separate laboratory bar with its own timer, usually around ten seconds. If players reach a specific mark before the timer expires, they succeed in the section and earn extra points, added to their original laboratory bar. If they fail, no extra points are awarded. Marks earned during these sections still count towards the original laboratory bar, regardless of section success.

For Disturbance, certain effects obstruct the screen or filters are applied during gameplay. Players must continue following the routine. The effects include:

  • A dinosaur stick puppet walking across the screen
  • Blue smoke rising from cannons in the corners
  • Electrical currents across the entire screen
  • Slime released from laboratory equipment
  • Error screens popping up while Dr. Gigavolt (represented by a glove) tries to close them
  • Chalk sketches throughout the screen
  • Mosaic filter
  • Inverted Filter
  • Fisheye filter
  • Greyscale and blur filter

For Actions, players must stop following the routine and respond to commands, similar to Simon Says Mode. One or more actions may occur in one Action section. The commands include:

  • Clap: players must clap with their controller
  • Shake: players must shake their controller rapidly
  • Stop: players must stop moving their controller

After finishing a party, players earn a random reward. If the player had unlocked all rewards, the player receives a joke from Dr. Gigavolt instead.

Rewards[]

There are currently only 5 obtainable rewards.
