Appearance of the Dancers[]
Just Dance 3 (Wii/PS3)[]
The coaches are two women wearing outfits inspired from African fashion. On the Wii and PS3 versions, they appear and disappear with an "erasing effect".
P1[]
P1 is a woman. She wears a tall, light pink and yellow diagonal striped hat with blonde and pink braids, a dark pink bra, and a red-and-gold striped skirt. She is barefoot and also wears a magenta bracelet on her left arm.
P2[]
P2 is also a woman. She wears a reddish-orange hat, large red and yellow striped earrings, a gold tunic with a red sash, and red and purple striped leggings. She is also barefoot, and wears a magenta bracelet on her left arm.
Just Dance 3 (Xbox 360)[]
On the Xbox 360 version, the coaches’ facial features are less visible, and they appear and disappear with a fading effect.
Remake[]
In the remake, the coaches retain their features. However, their faces are more visible, and their color schemes are darker.
Background[]
Just Dance 3 (Wii/PS3)[]
The routine takes place in a savanna in the middle of Africa. At the start of the routine, it is dark. As the song progresses, the sun rises. When it is low on the horizon, the halo effect is present. At some points in the routine, silhouettes of walking giraffes and flying birds appear. Since the beginning of the first verse, the sun pulsates to the beat. During the entire song, the whole background undulates of heat.
At the beginning and the end of the routine, the coaches appear and disappear with an erasing effect accompanied by a fitting sound effect.
Just Dance 3 (Xbox 360)[]
In the Xbox 360 version, the sun is shinier and the environment is darker. The halo effect is more clear and realistic. The pulsating sun effect is more noticeable. Additionally, some animations are different and there are more flying birds.
At the beginning and the end, the coaches appear and disappear with a standard fading transition, as opposed to the Wii and PS3 version.
Remake[]
The background in the remake is based on the Wii/PS3 version but the colors are more clear and darker. The halo effect is more visible. Additionally, the sun no longer pulsates.
Gold Moves[]
There are 3 Gold Moves in this routine:
Gold Moves 1 and 2: Hit your leg with your hands. Gold Move 1 is a left-to-right Wave Gold Move. They happen consecutively.
Gold Move 3: Touch your partner’s hands one-by-one, then put your right leg out and stay that way.

Trivia[]
- The cover used in-game has a faster tempo compared to the original song.
- On the Wii and PS3 versions of Just Dance 3, the coach selection images are taken from the menu icon; on the Xbox 360 version, instead, they are in different poses. The assets for the remake are based off the latter versions, thus making Pata Pata the third routine in the series to feature a Beta element in its remake, following Who Let the Dogs Out?, Crying Blood, and Futebol Crazy.
- Pata Pata was the sixth pre-Just Dance 2016 map since That’s Not My Name to be released in Just Dance Unlimited outside of an event, after Qia La Yong Yuan OK - Future Underworld Mix, Tui Zhi Ge, Scream & Shout, Venus, Me And My Broken Heart, and It’s Not Unusual.
- Calypso (Community Remix), Friendly Phantom, and Pata Pata were the last routines in the history of Just Dance to be released in 舞力无限.
- The Just Dance 3 and early remake pictograms that contain arrows are translucent instead of opaque.
- In the Xbox 360 version of Just Dance 3, the coach selection images are mirrored, resulting in their gloves to be on their left hands.
- Pata Pata was released on Just Dance Unlimited on May 6, 2021 to celebrate the beginning of Africa Month.
- In a pictogram on Just Dance Unlimited, the top of the head has been cut out.
