"Payphone" by Maroon 5 featuring Wiz Khalifa is featured on Just Dance 2025 Edition. The song was meant to be a DLC in Just Dance 2015 but was ultimately scrapped for unknown reasons
Appearance of the Dancers[]
P1[]
P1 is Rasputin. His C1 outfit is recycled from I Am My Own Muse, the only difference being that his glove is orange. In the first verse, he changes into his C2 outfit, which is a modified version of his appearances in Rasputin and Sugar. At the end, he changes into his C3 outfit with a beard resembling that of Grigori Rasputin before changing back to his C1 outfit.
P2[]
P2 is The Bride. Her C1 outfit is recycled from Sweet but Psycho. During the chorus, she changes into her C2 outfit, which is a modified version of her appearances in Hot N Cold and Sugar. At the end, she changes into her C3 outfit which consists of larger hair, a bra, and a dress with more accessories.
Background[]
The routine starts with the coaches in two separate telephone booths, talking to one another.
It then switches to two individual backgrounds separated by a line. Rasputin’s background takes place at the Dancity University Student Pad after a bachelor party, with a worn-down banner on a wall reading "Rasputin’s Bachelor Party [sic]", lights in the shape of stars and fairies that light up to the beat, and cans and other garbage on the floor. The Bride’s background is the wedding dining room from Sweet but Psycho, set at night.
The map then switches to a flashback of Rasputin and The Bride at a beach at sunset, with candles laid on the floor and a small couple's table with candles with curtains surrounding it. This flashback appears to be on a TV like setting.
In the second chorus, it switches to outside of the Glade of Ardor in a painting-like form.
During Wiz Khalifa’s verse, the routine takes place outside of the telephone boots from the intro, with Rasputin trying to make up with The Bride. Just before the final chorus, one of Cupid's arrows appears, transitioning the background to the next scene.
During the final chorus and outro, it switches to the wedding venue from Sweet but Psycho and I Am My Own Muse. The background consists of a grass floor with two rose arches, many lamps and a curtain.
At the end of the routine, it switches to the final background of Telephone, where The Bride dissolves into dust.
Gold Moves[]
There is 1 Gold Move in this routine:
Gold Move: While moving to the right:
- P1: Try catching P2 with both of your arms.
- P2: Make a beauty pose with your hands.

Trivia[]
General[]
- Payphone is the sixth song by Maroon 5 in the series.
- It is also the second song by Maroon 5 that features Rasputin and the Bride as coaches, after Sugar.
- Payphone is the first song by Wiz Khalifa in the main series.
- Including Work Hard, Play Hard (The Hip Hop Dance Experience), it is his second appearance in the entire franchise.
- The codename "PayphoneDLC" can be found in the files of Just Dance 2015, implying the song was initially meant to debut as downloadable content for that game, though it is unknown how far the routine got in development before being scrapped.[2]
- The clean version of Payphone is used, in which:
- "S**t" (from "full of s**t") is replaced with "it".
- "F**king" is replaced with "stupid".
- "F**k" is replaced with "work" (when the word is said, a warped effect is used).
- "S**t" (in Wiz Khalifa’s verse) is censored.
- Wiz Khalifa was not credited in the preview.
Routine[]
- Payphone marks Rasputin’s fifth playable appearance in the Just Dance series, as well as his ninth overall appearance.
- The telephone booths and the ending background were from Telephone.
- Payphone marks The Bride’s fourth playable appearance in the Just Dance series, as well as her seventh overall appearance.
- The routine reuses some moves from Hot N Cold, Rasputin, Sweet but Psycho, and I Am My Own Muse.
- As seen in behind-the-scenes footage, the telephones in the intro were attached to a suitcase handle to hold up the wire.[3]
- The routine in the preview gameplay has some subtle differences from the final one:
- In the pre-chorus, a banner saying "Rasputin’s Bachelor Party" is spelled incorrectly as "Rasputin’s Bachelor Papty".
- In the final game, Rasputin’s background during the verses was adjusted, presumably to hide the spelling error on the banner.
- The preview has a different camera angle from the final gameplay.[4]
- In the transition to the chorus, The Bride’s shadow is seen transitioning later than Rasputin’s.
- In the pre-chorus, a banner saying "Rasputin’s Bachelor Party" is spelled incorrectly as "Rasputin’s Bachelor Papty".
