Rasputin is a character who debuted in the franchise in his namesake map from Just Dance 2. He is best known for his ongoing storyline with The Bride.
Biography[]
Rasputin hails from Winterhaven[1], with his first appearance being in Rasputin, the map that he was named after. He appeared in a Duet with the coach of Body Movin’ (Fatboy Slim Remix) in Hungarian Dance No. 5, which takes inside a Just Dance studio, with sets based on both of their maps. However, the relationship in Hungarian Dance No. 5 was confirmed not to be canon to his relationship with The Bride.
In Y.M.C.A., Rasputin is seen with the members of his former[2] boyband: the coaches of Moves Like Jagger (in his C3 form), Viva Las Vegas, and DARE.
The very first interactions between The Bride and Rasputin can be seen in the background of the party that takes place during Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.). During the second half of the first chorus, Rasputin dances for The Bride, in an attempt to impress her. As he dances, Mister Overload also tries to grab her attention, but fails, and Rasputin and The Bride are later seen walking out together. The Bride returns during the second chorus wearing a fake beard resembling Rasputin’s, marking the start of their relationship. This newfound relationship would eventually evolve, as seen in Sugar, where the couple celebrate their recent engagement.[3]
Going forward in time, Rasputin makes a cameo at the end of Sweet but Psycho, where he shows up late to their wedding, and The Bride, now in her "Bridezilla" form, has destroyed most of the venue. Her reaction was caused by his lack of punctuality, as she was traumatized from a previous marriage fail. The reasons for why he was late are yet to be revealed, but Rasputin’s perspective of their failed wedding can be seen in I Am My Own Muse, where he begs The Bride to forgive him, even after the chaos she caused.
His most recent main appearance is in Just Dance 2025 Edition, in Payphone. The routine starts with the two former lovers trying to call each other in a telephone booth but failing; it then transitions to separate settings for each coach, with Rasputin being at a bachelor party at the Dancity University Student Pad and The Bride being in the dining area from Sweet but Psycho. In each chorus, the routine transitions to flashbacks of the two spending time together - the first chorus depicts them on a beach at sunset, in front of a romantically adorned table for two, whereas the second one depicts them in the flower hallway from the Glade of Ardor. In the bridge, Rasputin and The Bride meet again, with the former trying to earn The Bride’s forgiveness. She sternly refuses at first but, before the final chorus, she is struck by an arrow from Cupid, and the two ultimately celebrate their wedding. However, after the first chorus, the background transitions to the highway seen at the end of Telephone, and The Bride dissolves into dust as Rasputin tries to hug her, leaving him alone and sorrowful.
