"Sayonara" was initially planned to have a different routine, before being scrapped, and reworked later in development.
Appearance of the Dancer[]
The coach’s appearance is nearly the same as her finalized design, except for some slight changes in her color palette. The dark teal features in her clothing are now in a darker, greener variation, her glove is pale yellow, her fishnet stockings are white and black rather than purple and black, and her outline is pink and thinner.
Background[]
The background is similar to that of the finalized version, though there are some differences.
In the beginning of the routine, the coach is seen poking at the Japanese photo booth from the finalized version of the routine, however it is absent and the background is black.
The background starts before and during the beginning of the song. There is a bright yellow center with pink sides, as objects fall down the screen behind the coach. The background becomes a purple and red tunnel with white lines pointed at the coach.
During the verses, the background is still pink with flashing hearts. However, in the screen, there is a purple to blue gradient background with a rainbow over it. There are two puppets on sticks found on the left and right sides of the dancer, one being a yellow duck with a pink bow and the latter being a purple bunny with a green bow. There are also various objects floating around in the screen throughout the verses. Everytime the coach proceeds to do a slashing movement, there are bright white slashes seen across the coach inside the screen. Next to the screen, there are eight buttons with icons, four on each side.
The next background is found during the first segment of the chorus, and is nearly identical to that of the finalized version, however, the transparent-white stripes are now thicker, with less gaps being in between each stripe. The colors of the rainbow are duller and more transparent, and there are no flying objects.
During the chorus' second segment, the background becomes a purple and red tunnel, similarly to what is seen in the beginning of the routine though, the white lines are absent. The text "さようなら" ("Sayonara" written in the Hiragana script) is also absent, and not displayed when the word is sang. Additionally, the thunder strikes and slashes from the finalized routine are missing in this background.
The background seen in the interlude of the finalized routine is completely absent, and is replaced with the rainbow background from the first segment of the chorus.

Trivia[]
- The routine was leaked through a pre-rendered gameplay video.
- Although there are only four players (like in all early pre-rendered gameplays), the player icons are all placed towards the left side of the screen, as if there were meant to be six players (like in finalized pre-rendered gameplays).
- Additionally, the star bar is invisible in the gameplay.

- The pictograms all use default colors, implying that this version was scrapped early into development.
