Trivia[]
- Season 2: Showdown is the first season in the history of Just Dance to be a collaboration with a real-life event.
- On May 5, 2023, a remix of Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s "Te Deum" (the official anthem of the Eurovision Song Contest) was released on music services to promote the season, thus making Season 2: Showdown the first season in the history of Just Dance to have an official anthem.
- This remix is titled "Te Deum Eurovision Theme - Just Dance Remix", and The Just Dancers are credited as the artists.
- During the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 on May 13, 2023, the official Just Dance Twitter account live-tweeted the event, posting several memes involving Just Dance coaches edited onto the performances.[6]
- Wannabe was originally announced as one of the legacy songs to be released during the season, with May 25, 2023 being its official release date; however, on May 19, Just Dance announced that the song would have been replaced by Toy and Waterloo.[7] This marks the first time a map (either new or returning) is removed from the schedule of a Just Dance season after its initial announcement.
- This also makes Season 2: Showdown the first season in the history of Just Dance to receive changes in its release schedule in terms of featured content.
- It is the sixth season to receive changes of any kind, after Season 2: Feel The Power, Season 3: Festival!, Season 14 of 舞力无限, Season 2: Surreal, and Season 1: Lover Coaster. Season 14 of 舞力无限 had a release postponement (namely, Dare to Live was moved to Week 1 of the following season), whereas the others had advances or postponements in terms of dates.
- As a consequence of the removal of Wannabe from the schedule, its preview gameplay was made private, along with those for Euphoria and Why Oh Why. However, the previews of the latter two maps were made public again after a few days.
- This also makes Season 2: Showdown the first season in the history of Just Dance to receive changes in its release schedule in terms of featured content.
- In the press release for the season, Satellite and Uno were announced to be part of the Eurovision Song Contest playlist,[1] but they were ultimately not released along with the playlist itself.
- The season is affected by a bug that gives double points to players who are not subscribed to Just Dance+.[8][9]
- From May 16, 2023 to June 30, 2023, Ubisoft held an online vote for the songs and their representing Danceverses, with profile pictures, wallpapers, banners and extended lore released for the winner. Weekly polls that features bits of information for each representing Danceverse were distributed on the official Twitter account for fans to vote, while the Ubisoft Star Players served as the jury for the competition.[10]
- The winner was Sun Horizon.[11]
