"That’s the Way (I Like It)" by KC and the Sunshine Band is featured on Just Dance, Just Dance 3 (as a downloadable track), Just Dance Now, Just Dance Unlimited, 舞力无限, and Just Dance+. It was also planned to appear on Just Dance: Greatest Hits/Best Of, but was scrapped for unknown reasons.
Appearance of the Dancer[]
Original[]
The dancer is a man with an orange afro. He wears a yellow jumper with a wide collar, red torso area, and puffy sleeves with white stars on it, orange pants with white stars, a red belt with a silver buckle, and white shoes with plum soles.
Just Dance 3[]
In Just Dance 3, his color scheme is darker and his face is more visible. On the Xbox 360 version, the orange parts of his outfit are now fully red and his jumper’s sleeves and collar are now fully orange.
Remake[]
In the remake, his color scheme has been completely changed. His afro is now brown and his suit is now brown and golden. He also looks more realistic and has a white glowing outline that turns to a more reddish shade when the coach performs moves that are not counted.
Beta Remake[]
Originally, in the remake, the dancer's afro and torso area was dark fuchsia. Additionally, the rest of his outfit was light blue instead of the brown and golden suit shown in the final remake.
Background[]
Just Dance[]
The routine is set in a dark green and teal room with three wavy light green, dark green, and white lines on the floor. The wall has four striped teal lines. There are big white stars on each side of the screen and small spinning stars on each side that move up and vanish. There are also some lights on the ceiling that shine on the dancer.
Just Dance 3 (Wii)[]
In the Wii version of Just Dance 3, there are now two added teal curves on the floor. A shimmer moves through the outline of the curves to the beat. The lights on the ceiling have been removed. The stars now move across the background. At certain points in the routine, a shine moves through the stripes on the wall. At the beginning and end of the routine, a male voice speaks "Let’s groove, let’s boom, let’s dance!"
Just Dance 3 (Xbox 360)[]
In the Xbox 360 version of Just Dance 3, there are now two stars on each side of the screen that bounce to the beat of the song. The wavy lines now move as if they were waves. There is a green mist on the floor. During the chorus, sparkles fall down the screen, and the striped lines shine to the beat.
Remake[]
In the remake, the wall is now purple. It has a dotted design and flashes during certain parts on the routine. There are now more wavy lines, which have been recolored in a orange-to-purple gradient that moves. There is also now a purple and blue center, with orange and red "rays" spinning around it like a windmill. There are also red and white stars on each side that pulse to the beat. At the beginning of the routine, maroon gradient copies of the coach appear layered on top of each other, which disappear to reveal the coach. At the end of the routine, the opposite occurs.
Gold Moves[]
There are 5 Gold Moves in this routine from Just Dance 3 onwards, all of which are the same:
All Gold Moves: Raise your arms in a flex position.

Trivia[]
General[]
- In the Amazon page for Just Dance, the group’s name is spelled as "Kc & The Sunshine Band".[3]
- As opposed to every previous game that featured That’s the Way (I Like It), Just Dance Now, Just Dance Unlimited, and Just Dance+ capitalize every word in the song title and spell the group’s name as "KC & The Sunshine Band" instead of "KC and the Sunshine Band".
Routine[]
- That’s the Way (I Like It) is the second song (after Step by Step) that debuted in Just Dance to return in Just Dance Now.
- In Just Dance 3 and the remake, there is a male voice that says "Let’s groove, let’s boom, let’s dance!" at the beginning of the routine.
- Because of this, That’s the Way (I Like It) is the first remade routine to feature spoken speech before the song starts.
- It is also the first one overall.
- Because of this, That’s the Way (I Like It) is the first remade routine to feature spoken speech before the song starts.
- The files for the Just Dance 3 version can be found on Just Dance: Greatest Hits.[citation needed]
- In the Just Dance Now remake, the coach was intended to appear with a different color scheme (dark fuchsia and light blue instead of brown and golden, respectively). The background was also in a lighter shade.
- His facial expressions are also more visible on the beta square.
- In the original Just Dance Unlimited preview for the routine, the beta background is used, and the coach is absent.[4]
- A sticker of the stars in the background can be unlocked on Just Dance 2020 by dancing to Bangarang (Extreme Version) three times.
