The World is Ours

"The World is Ours" by David Correy featuring Monobloco is featured on Just Dance 2014 as a downloadable track. It is also featured on Just Dance Now (for players who subscribed before April 9, 2024). It was also featured on Just Dance Unlimited and 舞力无限, but was removed on August 1 and 2, 2024, respectively.

Appearance of the Dancer[]

The dancer is a man with brown hair and a stubble and wears a green jacket over a yellow shirt, and red shorts. At one point, he holds hands with the backup dancers and turns completely yellow. His shoes are green and orange. He also has an orange backwards cap that covers part of his brown hair, and some orange dog tags.

Background[]

The background changes very often throughout the routine: first, it's green and yellow with white hearts, then it changes to red and yellow with white doves. During the chorus, many silhouettes of boys playing football appear behind him, and, after that, there are girls' silhouettes dancing. After the Gold Move 3, it returns green and yellow with a big green shaded sun, yellow silhouettes of girls and boys and confetti rain. At the end, the background is red and yellow with green silhouettes.

  • The World is Ours is the first song promoted by Coca-Cola in the Just Dance series.
    • It was the first such song to debut in the main series before returning to Just Dance Now rather than the opposite.
  • Being released on April 15, 2014, The World is Ours is the most recent song in Just Dance 2014, as well as the only one to be released in 2014.
  • In early stages, the lyrics were dark blue and did not fade.[3]

Routine[]

  • The World is Ours is the second map in the series to be related to soccer, after Futebol Crazy.
  • The World is Ours is the first Solo routine where the coach holds hands with other coaches for a short period of time.
    • This is represented on the pictograms by featuring three bodies in a single canvas, making The World is Ours the second map in the history of Just Dance with such a feature, after Sway (Quién Será) on Just Dance 2.
      • On these pictograms, the bodies are slightly smaller and placed more towards the bottom than usual.
  • The World is Ours was the third free downloadable map in the Just Dance series to be ultimately made pay-to-play, after Crazy Christmas and Here Comes the Hotstepper.
  • In the US and Canada, The World is Ours is restricted, and players who live in these countries need a VPN to access the map. This makes The World is Ours the first region-locked DLC.
  • The World is Ours was the last downloadable map for Just Dance 2014.
  • Among all routines for songs promoted by Coca-Cola, The World is Ours is the only one not to be featured in any Mashup.
    • However, it is the only one to have at least one caption in Party Master Mode.
  • The World is Ours was leaked on April 26, 2014 by Dolphin Emulator users who had used exploits to get downloadable tracks for the game.
  • In the preview gameplay, the first part of the Gold Move effect is missing.
  • On May 30, 2014, a collaboration video for The World is Ours was uploaded to Just Dance’s UK channel. The video features Just Dancers all over the world, as well as UbiMouss. Their names are shown at the end, and they are:

  • In early versions of Just Dance Now, The World is Ours had to be unlocked by playing the game for seven days in a row.
  • Before The World is Ours was released worldwide in Just Dance Now along with Movement is Happiness (Find Your Thing), players were able to access the map via the Just Dance Now coding.
    • On April 14, 2015, the restriction for The World is Ours and Movement is Happiness (Find Your Thing) was removed on Just Dance Now. However, it was put back in place the following day, making it unplayable in the US and Canada once again.
      • The restriction was permanently lifted on August 14, 2015, after the release of The Choice Is Yours on the service.
  • Before The World is Ours was restricted once again in Just Dance Now, attempting to select it on mobile would open a message stating the need to play the game for seven days in a row to unlock it. However, if The World is Ours was selected on a PC screen, it would be played successfully.
    • Despite the restriction, The World is Ours could still be accessed through the Favorites playlist if it had been added within April 14, 2015.
  • In Just Dance Unlimited, the Just Dance 2014 square is used instead of the updated one from Just Dance Now.
    • The square on Just Dance Now was later changed on October 22, 2015.
  • On October 22, 2015, Movement Is Happiness (Find Your Thing) replaced The World is Ours as the free Coca-Cola routine.
    • This also caused the Coca-Cola 7 Day challenge to be removed.
