That information is in the page since the last days of September or the first week of October.

At the launch of Just Dance 2019 on the 25th of October (October 26th for the UK), the Just Dance Unlimited dance on demand service accessible through the previous editions of the game will no longer get new and exclusive content. However, players and owners of the past editions (Just Dance 2016, Just Dance 2017, Just Dance 2018) with an ongoing subscription will still continue to have access to all the nearly 400 songs already released and currently available in the Just Dance Unlimited catalogue.

Note that your Just Dance Unlimited subscription will carry over between your Just Dance games. If, for example, you own Just Dance 2018 and you have a Just Dance Unlimited pass, purchasing Just Dance 2019 will grant you access to the full catalogue of songs thanks to the same subscription.

We decided to end the Just Dance Unlimited retro compatibility as the Just Dancedevelopment team is fully dedicated to supporting the upcoming Just Dance 2019 game, focusing on bringing new live content and maps to players on the latest edition. Our goal is to offer the best quality of Just Dance experience to all our players, making sure we deliver the right content to the right players.

When looking at the usage of Just Dance Unlimited gameplays, we noticed that players on previous titles were more heavily engaged with back catalogue songs, while players on the current title are the ones engaging the most with newer content. Therefore, we believe that ending the Just Dance Unlimited retro compatibility matches how actually users enjoy the different contents available on Just Dance.

Players who have purchased a Just Dance Unlimited pass before September 25th and whose pass will still be valid (Just Dance Unlimited time left) after the release of the first Just Dance Unlimited exclusive content (starting December 25th) will be entitled to compensation.

    • In few words: When JD2019 releases, all new songs and onwards will not be available on JD2016 and JD2017's Unlimited

You’ll still have JDU, it just won’t be updated anymore.

      I know.

    • I’m surprised this didn’t happen sooner. This is good news for our video galleries though. Future songs won’t have a JD2016-2018 gameplay. Wait is JD2018 JDU effected by this or not?

      Yes.

    • Well that sucks. I won't be able to play newer songs through my Wii U because I only have JD2016 and JD2017 for Wii U (Gold Edition). I got my Switch since late April 2017 with JD2017. Then I started to get JD2018 on the Switch after a few days ago from release. Now in a few days I'm hoping to get JD2019 on the Switch to start playing through the new songs. At least I can still score from my Wii U account using my phone for a little while. This will also affect the PC players who only plays on PC because it only has JD2017 (besides Just Dance Now). Now they're basically going to mostly play mod songs through JD2017. Well at least they still have Just Dance Now. You will be missed JD2016, JD2017, JD2018. R.I.P. :(

    • Oh no! :( I’ve always thought that Unlimited is a good way to keep the older games updated and give those players new songs aswell.

    • That’s probably why No Lie is only avalible on JD2018 unlimited.

        Loading editor
    • so just so im clear:

2016, 2017, AND 2018 will no longer be getting new gameplays, yea?

      I don’t think so :( Since No Lie isn’t avalible on 2016/2017.

    • that's odd, then how do we know that the 2018 songs are in unlimited? was it through looking at 2019?

        Loading editor
    • I think so, there is a video on Youtube where we can see abit from Unlimited but there was no 2018 songs in there yet. But 2018 songs are on JDNow already so I think that Ubisoft should add them to 2016 and 2017 as a last update.

SayWha actually confirmed that the songs are on Unlimited, also, when Work Work alt gameplay got leaked you can find 24K Magic on the JDU section

    • Thank you very much Ubisoft, us PC players don't deserve anything anyway. Keep sh**ting on us.

    • Just Dance isn't meant to be played as a PC game tho... It's literally a party game, and that usually means it's meant to be played on consoles.

Yeah, but some of us don't have the money to buy a console. Besides, who said party games can't be played on PC? JD 2017 was very well done.

    • I think that they stopped making Just Dance for PC because there where low sales and people modded it. But I understand that some can’t afford consoles so for that reason, they should keep the PC version updated.

No one said party gamese can't be played on PC, but like Mikmok said, it doesn't make sense to invest in supporting a game that has low sales.

    • I wish Just Dance Unlimited could stretch between consoles. I have a year-long subscription expiring on March, but this is on Just Dance 2018 and Just Dance 2017 on the PS4. However, for Just Dance 2019 I’m getting it on Xbox One, which means I’d have two subscriptions: a month-long one on the Xbox One (which would get not much exclusives during that time) and a year-long one for the PS4.

But instead of stretching subscriptions between consoles, Ubisoft decides to not spread future JD2019 exclusives over to JD2018 and JD2017, so I can’t play those on the PS4 unless I buy a longer subscription on the Xbox One. Shoot.

I know this reply sounds confusing, but it’s the best I can word it.

    • No I get what you mean.

Given that this was not a foreseeable circumstance, I believe Ubisoft should consider compensating those who bought a 1-year subscription for JDU in 2018.

      YES!!

(Even though I bought the subscription for the sole purpose of dancing to ABBA songs)

They are giving some sort of compensation.

“Players who have purchased a Just Dance Unlimited pass before September 25th and whose pass will still be valid (Just Dance Unlimited time left) after the release of the first Just Dance Unlimited exclusive content (starting December 25th) will be entitled to compensation.”

    • welp we can't stop it, but wow ubisoft made another bad choice.

At least unlimited isn't ending, and the only thing that will effect the wikia by this is that there will be no more of those "'Song Name' On The Just Dance 2016/2017/2018 Menu."

Yes, and that you will only put JD2019 and JDN gameplay (If songs get there)

    • so... does this count for songs that might get put on jdu that aren't released? (ex. call me maybe)

    • and why are they doing this to the past games? i mean it seems like just dance ONLY cares about jd2019. there treating all their past games (2014,2015,2016,2017) like complete garbage. just dance needs to stop whatever they're taking on their free time. plus, their ending all services on 7thgen and all consoles on 2014/2015. it's like the just dance team is losing their minds. not hatin on the jdt but seriously it's time to stop.

All the songs that are currently on JD2016-2018’s JDU will be all that will be playable. No further songs will be added.

They only care about JD2019 because it represents the future of the franchise and deserves all of their attention and, more importantly, all the servers it can get. Why waste server power on JD2014-2015’s WDFs when there’s barely anyone in them? That power can be better used to focus on JD2019.

It’s just the online services, it’s not like the game is becoming unplayable.
