"Toxic" by Britney Spears is featured on Just Dance 2, Just Dance Wii, Just Dance: Greatest Hits/Best Of, Just Dance 2023 Edition, and 舞力无限. It was featured on Just Dance 3 as a downloadable track, but became unavailable for purchase following the shutdown of the Wii Shop Channel on January 30, 2019, and the removal of most DLCs from the Xbox 360 Marketplace on August 20, 2023.
Prior to its inclusion to Just Dance 2023 Edition, a cover by The Hit Crew was used in-game before it was changed to its original version. Additionally, the routine serves as an additional map for the routine used in Just Dance 2023 Edition, with the captions "Just Dance 2 version" on Just Dance 2023 Edition and "Classic Version" on 舞力无限.
Appearance of the Dancer[]
Original[]
The dancer is Agent D disguised as The Nurse. She is a woman with purple hair who wears a pink nurse jacket over a purple dress, a pink nurse’s hat, and pink stilettos. Her jacket has two purple pockets that have white-on-pink medical crosses on them and her hat has a white cross on a hot pink patch. She also has a pink stethoscope in her ears and a purple bracelet on her left arm. During the chorus, her outfit and hair change from pink to black, but the crosses on her outfit remain visible.
Just Dance Wii[]
On Just Dance Wii 2, The Nurse’s color scheme becomes darker in the intro and the choruses (instead of her outfit turning black), with the fuchsia parts and her outline turning brighter.
During the bridge, it constantly flashes between an even darker version and the original one, with the fuchsia parts still being visible. In the final 16 beats of the bridge, the colors turn even darker and overlapping silhouettes form in front of and behind The Nurse; both the silhouettes and the darker colors gradually fade before the final chorus.
Remake[]
In the remake, The Nurse has a lighter and more realistic color scheme and a pink outline. The color scheme changes work like in the original version.
Background[]
Original[]
The routine takes place in a pink nuclear central room, with a purple radiation sign, other purple signs, and many lights including pink smoke coming out from the bottom. During the chorus, it turns into a dark red room with horizontal and vertical neon lines whose back and sides flash with red stripes and the pink smoke becomes red.
Just Dance Wii[]
The background is left largely unchanged, except for the hazard sign being replaced by a warning sign.
Just Dance 3/Greatest Hits (Wii)[]
The red room in the chorus is completely different: it has a pixelated rose in the background and cherry red electricity circles coming out of it.
Remake[]
The background is the same as in the original version; however, the lights are dimmer.
Gold Moves[]
Original[]
There is 1 Gold Move in the original version of the routine routine:
Gold Move: Put your hands on your hips and turn to the right and shake your torso slightly.
Remake (from Just Dance 2023 Edition onwards)[]
There are 2 Gold Moves in the remake from Just Dance 2023 Edition onwards:
Gold Move 1: Shake your arms and shoulders while leaning over.
Gold Move 2: Same as Gold Move 1 in its original game.

Trivia[]
General[]
- Toxic is the second song by Britney Spears in the series.
- Holiday and Toxic were the first two covers licensed from The Hit Crew in the series.
- Toxic is the first song in the Just Dance series to have two different routines appearing in different games.
- As opposed to the norm, the routine on Just Dance 2023 Edition serves as a new standalone map for the song rather than as an alternate, with the former serving as an alternate under the caption "Just Dance 2 version".
- As opposed to every previous game that featured Toxic, Just Dance 2023 Edition uses the original version of the song. This makes Toxic the tenth song to have its audio altered in later appearances, after Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit of Monika) and Moving on Up on Just Dance: Summer Party, I Like to Move It, Jump in the Line, U Can’t Touch This, and Who Let the Dogs Out? from Just Dance 3 onwards, Let It Go on 舞力全开2015, and Barbra Streisand on Just Dance Unlimited.
- In the in-game cover, the line "It’s in the air and it’s all around" is replaced by a repetition of the line "Losing my head, spinning ’round and ’round".
- Prior to Just Dance 2023 Edition, the lyric "I’m addicted to you" was displayed as a single line the first time it was sung and as two lines every other time; in Just Dance 2023 Edition, instead, it always appears as one line.
- In Ubisoft Music’s Spotify playlist "Just Dance New Year’s Playlist", which was made before the inclusion of Toxic in Just Dance 2023 Edition, the original song is used instead of The Hit Crew’s cover, despite the latter being available on Spotify.[2]
- In Just Dance 2023 Edition, the line "Taste of your lips I’m on a ride" in the final chorus appears with an additional "With a" at the beginning despite that part not being sung at that point in the song.
- The same applies to the Just Dance 2023 Edition routine and its Extreme version.
- In every routine, each coach crosses her arms during the lines "You’re toxic/I’m slippin’ under" and "I’m addicted to you/Don’t you know/That you’re toxic?".
- In the Just Dance 2 routine, however, The Nurse performs a different move when the latter line is sung in the last chorus.
Routine[]
- Since the map is treated as an alternate routine on Just Dance 2023 Edition, Toxic is the first map in the Just Dance to be both a Classic and an alternate depending on the game it appears in.
- This also makes Toxic the first map to be in the main map list of more than one game (excluding those that can be unlocked through Ubisoft Club or similar means).
- Among the routines that are featured on Just Dance 2023 Edition, Toxic is the only one not to have a title card.
- This is because the remake was originally created for Just Dance Now, where title cards had not come into fashion yet.
- The background in the chorus seems to be based on a scene from the music video for the song.
- In the Just Dance 2 preview gameplay, the doors open with a different animation, and The Nurse’s outfit turns dark purple with fuchsia highlights instead of black. Her skin also turns darker.
- This beta color scheme change is used on Just Dance Wii.
- However, in the final chorus, the coach retains her initial color scheme.
- This beta color scheme change is used on Just Dance Wii.
- Two beta pictograms for the Just Dance 2 version of the map are found in the old Just Dance Now servers.
- On the menu icons in Just Dance 2 and Just Dance Wii, The Nurse is missing her glove and in place of it is her bracelet, which is supposed to be on her other arm.
- On the menu icons in Just Dance 2, Just Dance 3, and Just Dance: Greatest Hits/Best Of, the big hazard sign has two smaller hazard signs inside of it, even though they are not present in-game. This is also the case with the warning sign in Just Dance Wii.
- From Just Dance 2 to Just Dance: Greatest Hits/Best Of, as well as in the old Just Dance Now servers, the pictograms are always pink despite The Nurse’s outfit changing color to black in the chorus.
- In the Just Dance: Best Of preview gameplay, the pictograms fade away earlier.
- When Toxic was first uploaded to the old Just Dance Now servers, the menu assets and the pictograms were reused from Just Dance: Greatest Hits/Best Of.
- The files were removed upon the "20150325_1222" server update and rereleased upon the "20150422_1529" update, where the menu assets were remade and some pictograms were remade with the Just Dance 2016 model.
- All the pictograms were ultimately remade upon the release of Just Dance 2023 Edition.
- Since the original song is used in Just Dance 2023 Edition, the background sound effect in the routine became almost inaudible.
- The routine can be spotted in the background of Can’t Stop the Feeling! (Danceverse Prince Version).
- On 舞力无限, a different menu square is used compared to the one from the old Just Dance Now servers.
- The Nurse returns in Gimme More with a slightly altered costume.
