Hello everyone! It is May so it is time for Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month! This means that we will be highlighting the Asian and Pacific Islands artists, performers, and choreographers that make this game possible! Today will be part one, which will focus on Just Dance 2025 Edition. In about two weeks, we will release part two, which will give an overview of the series and showcase the fanart and mashups that we received from the community!
YOUR FANART HERE[]
As usual, we are accepting fanart and mashups relating to AAPI artists and characters! If you would like to submit, please do so here! We will also be asking for music recommendations in an upcoming post. A small sample of what we have received so far can be found at the end of the blog.
Cast and crew[]
Ubisoft has several studios around the globe, including several in Asia. This includes Ubisoft Shanghai, who is responsible for making roughly half of the maps in the game. They are also currently working on developing a new Chinese mobile game, 舞力全开:派对 (Just Dance: Party), in collaboration with Tencent. Ubisoft Shanghai is home to several performers and choreographers, including Xuxu YunLing, Hannah Shang, Bear Zhang, Daniel Xu, and several others!
Just Dance: Party[]
舞力全开:派对 (Just Dance: Party) is an upcoming Chinese mobile game that is currently in development. It is still in the relatively early stages as it was just announced a couple weeks ago and has no launch date yet. Based on the announcement trailer, it will be a completely new experience with animated dancers and camera scoring, though details are unclear. It currently looks like if Dance Central was combined with Just Dance Now but we will know more in the coming months.
Artists[]
This year, we saw less AAPI artists. This was due to less emphasis being placed on K-pop, no regional exclusives, and less artists in the game overall.
BLACKPINK[]
K-pop girl group BLACKPINK makes their sixth appearance this year with Pink Venom. They are both the most prolific girl group and most prolific K-pop group in the series. They have appeared in every game since Just Dance 2019, excluding Just Dance 2023 Edition.
Charli XCX[]
British singer Charli XCX, who is of Indian descent, makes her seventh appearance this year with Apple.
The Just Dance Band[]
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the series, we got Sunlight, a Ubisoft Original K-pop song credited to the Just Dance Band. Unfortunately, we do not know the vocalist but it is a really nice celebration map.
Conclusion[]
And that concludes our very short blog. Hopefully we will see more next year or in one of the upcoming Just Dance+ drops. You can let us know what songs you would like to see in our upcoming music recommendations post. Additionally, make sure you get your fanart and mashups in so they can be featured in part 2! Please submit here! Here is a small preview of what we have received so far:
