"Vampire" (stylized as "vampire" in-game) by Olivia Rodrigo is featured on Just Dance 2024 Edition.
Appearance of the Dancers[]
The routine is a duet performed by Grace, from thank u, next and Ari, from good 4 u. They are both dressed formally for their prom night.
P1[]
P1 is Grace. She returns with her navy blue ponytail from her original routine, except that it is shorter, with the hair clips being replaced with with a shiny golden crown and is also wearing the same black neckerchief tied around her neck. She is wearing the same makeup from her previous routine with mascara running down her face. Her outfit is changed into a poofy pink dress with ruffled sleeves and a ruffled skirt. She is wearing a corset that makes a reference to her bra in the original routine as it is half pink and half blue with a white outline dividing the colors. Around her dress is a white sash with a yellow outline with the message "PROM QUEEN" appearing on it in blue letters. On her left hand she is wearing a golden bracelet and she is wearing a light blue glove on her right. She is lastly wearing the same pair of pink heels and black socks (which are also shorter) from her original routine.
P2[]
P2 is Ari. She also returns with the same make up and hairstyle in her C4 outfit from good 4 u. She is now wearing a blue plaid top with a black ribbon in the middle and a black choker and straps that wrap around her shoulders to hold her light blue poofy sleeves. Her skirt is a darker blue with a darker plaid texture, it also consist of a slit on the left that reveals her thigh that has a garter on it, and on the back of her skirt connects a light blue train that reaches to her knees. She is also wearing the same black belt and a golden chained belt around her waist and the same pair of black leathered gloves with her right hand being gold, and the same black leathered boots from her previous appearance.
Background[]
The routine takes place in the gym area of the Just Dance High School, which is decorated as a party with hanging stars, lights and fabric. A large heart can be seen in the center, decorated with differently colored lights that pulse to the beat of the song. There are also balloons and food scattered on the ground. There are also tables on some sides which have food such as cupcakes and pizzas. Disco lights are also beating to the song in stars or hearts. At the beginning of the routine, the title card shows and is hanging from the ceiling along with yellow and pink stars. People from the party with black silhouettes are found leaving. Grace is seen crying while Ari is seen adjusting her hair. The two are put in separate rooms. Grace is in the part of the room that the routine uses for the entire time and Ari is in front of the basketball court. After the first chorus, the Camera pans with Ari so they are now next to each other.
Gold Moves[]
There are 2 Gold Moves in this routine:
Gold Move 1: While facing each other, put your arms down. P1 stomps their left foot, while P2 stomps their right foot.
Gold Move 2: Bend to your left and right respectively, and make a heart with your arms. This is a left-to-right wave Gold Move.
Trivia[]
General[]
- Vampire is the third song by Olivia Rodrigo in the series.
- The clean version is used in-game, where "fame f**ker" is replaced with "dream crusher", "god" from "goddamn vampire" is censored and “f**ked up” is replaced with “tragic”.
- "Damn" from "goddamn vampire" has been censored separately.
Routine[]
- The preview gameplays of A Night in the Château de Versailles and Vampire are the only ones among all Just Dance 2024 Edition preview gameplays to feature a Gold Move.
- However, the Gold Move does not fully occur in the preview of Vampire, as the video fades away before it is performed.
- On February 27, 2024, American YouTuber Littlesiha and lore guardian Aurore officially confirmed that Grace and Ari are in a relationship through a series of videos titled Lore Week.[2] This makes Grace and Ari the first official and unambiguously depicted same-sex couple in the history of Just Dance.
- The colors of the logo are inspired by the official lesbian flag.
- The teaser for the song reveals that Grace and Ari were "roommates".[3]
- This is most likely a reference to a Vine in which a woman is recorded saying that sentence, which has since been appropriated to poke fun at historical depictions of relationships between people of the same sex.
- An early version of the routine features many differences:
- There is no title card, the split, or the crowd walking at the intro.
- The background is darker.
- Grace and Ari appear to have a darker color scheme.
- There is an overhead camera angle during the chorus that is absent during the final version.
- The lights of stars and hearts across the room are absent.
- At the end, Grace and Ari are more zoomed.
