"When I Grow Up" by The Pussycat Dolls is featured on Just Dance 2. It was also featured on Just Dance Unlimited and 舞力无限, but was removed on August 1 and 2, 2024, respectively.
The song also has three alternate routines, all known as the Contest Winner routines.
Appearance of the Dancer[]
C1[]
C1 is a woman with dark teal hair in an uneven bob haircut and dark teal sunglasses. She wears a purple sunhat, a teal dress with a purple bow around her waist, and teal pumps. She also wears dark lipstick and a bright pink glove, specifically persian rose.
C2[]
C2 is the younger version of the woman. She has orange hair in the same uneven bob haircut and orange sunglasses. She wears an orange t-shirt with purple and pink rainbows with white clouds, orange shorts with the same pattern, and white flats with purple socks. She now wears a feather boa and floppy sunhat with a pink flower.
In the remake, C1’s lipstick is much more visible, and her clothing looks more realistic, and both dancers faces are less visible.
Background[]
Just Dance 2[]
During the adult’s scenes, she is standing on a reflective floor in front of The Red Carpet, and around her are paparazzi, palm trees, railings, and glowing lights from a city. During the child’s scenes, she is in her orange-colored room, having a window with curtains, a bed, an armchair/sofa with stuffed animals, a bed with a dolphin on it, and a clothes-hanger. Also, a Raving Rabbid appears on the couch as one of the stuffed animals.
Remake[]
In the remake, the flashes from the paparazzi’s cameras are dimmer, and the bedroom and red carpet sets are stretched so that the dancer is standing on them instead of in front. The transition between the two backgrounds happens in a different way, and the second one looks lighter. The cameras also now flash to the left and right in sync with the dancer’s movements.
Gold Moves[]
There are 3 Gold Moves in this routine. Gold Moves 2 and 3 are performed consecutively in Just Dance 2:
Gold Move 1: Put your hands in the air and stomp your left foot.
Gold Move 2: Put your right hand on your head, put your left arm at the back of your body, and lean back as if you were in distress.
Gold Move 3 (Original): Put your hands up next to your face by bending your elbows 90°, and rotate the upper body from right to left.
Gold Move 3 (Remake): Put your hands up slightly close to your face by bending your elbows 90°, and stand looking towards the camera as if you were surprised.
